Getting Ready to Travel
The next few weeks are really busy. First, I’m off to my favorite place, Disney World, for the Type A Parent conference. It will be a fast paced week of speakers, workshops, and trips to the park.
It just happens to also coincide with EPCOT’s Food & Wine Festival. So I will be eating my way around the world. You can expect to see food pictures on Twitter and Instagram next weekend.
I’m so excited that I just have to share. I get to head to Rocket City USA (Huntsville, Alabama) for a #TBEX #presstour in November. I will visit the best natural sites, museums, historic areas, and restaurants in the area. A HUGE thank you to @visithuntsvilleal for selecting me. Watch my feed in early November for plenty of photos from the trip. #travel #travelblogger #hosted #bloggertrip #iHeartHsv
Then I fly home, change suitcases and head back to the airport to fly to Huntsville, Alabama for a TBEX press trip. I will get to tour the best Space City has to offer. From natural caverns to the U.S. Space and Rocket Center, it will be a fun packed week in Hunstville. Do you have any travel plans coming up?
What to pack for Disney World?
As I get ready for my trip, I have been going thru my closet looking for something to wear. Normally, I’m a yoga pants or jeans and t-shirts kinda girl. I don’t go to yoga often, but they are just so darn comfortable. But for this trip, I am thinking I’ll go a little less “mom casual”.
Luckily, a friend introduced me to Stitch Fix a while back. So every over month, a stylist puts together a box of clothing items and sends them my way. I’ve been really happy with my stylist because she’s been sending me pieces I really like, are easy to care for, and can be dressed up or down.
Disney World Must Haves
As I pack for this trip, I’m using my packing checklist printable and getting 2 bags in order; one for Disney and one for Huntsville. In addition to that packing list there a few things that I need to pack especially for Disney. Since the kids aren’t coming along, I can pack a little lighter than normal. The autograph books and all the extra snacks are staying home. This trip I’ll be bringing these 5 things into the park with me.
Must Haves for Disney Trip include:
- Mickey or Minnie Mouse Ears
- Trading Pins for Disney pin trading
- My phone preloaded with essential Disney apps (My Disney Experience, Shop Disney Parks, Touring Plans, VSCO for photo editing)
- Emergency rain poncho
- Dining and FastPass+ Reservations
Disney links that you may like this week:
Since I have Disney on the brain this week, I’m sharing a few of my favorite Disney vacation planning websites.
Josh runs this site and offers reviews, planning guides, and crowd calendars. I appreciate his snarky sense of humor.
Deb and her team offer a great wealth of information from resort information to restaurant menus. This site has up to date information on all the property restaurants with pictures and prices. When making dining reservations, this is a great place to start look at what’s you could be eating.
This site offers planning tools that save time and money. I have paid for their subscription service to plan my touring of both Disney World and Universal. They have helped me avoid lines, see everything I wanted to see, and get the most out of my vacation. Their app is on my phone and find it very accurate in the parks.
