Wow! Veryyyy helpful! Im still wondering about the fire part though. Using coals to cook under a grate. Wish theres a picture if you have any that shows what it looks like cooking your meals. We will be out camping for a week.. so am right now trying to collect ideas etc for meals!

I LOVE this meal plan but I have a fire safety question. This will my my family’s first time cooking all our meals over an open fire and I’m a bit confused on the timing of everything. We usually use our campsite as a just a home base. We eat and rest there but hike or swim during most of the day. We usually only start a fire in the evening and extinguish it at bedtime so we don’t ever leave it unattended. If we cook all of our meals over the fire does that mean we’ll have to build and extinguish 3 fires each day?
As I understand it you have to let a cooking fire die down quite a bit before actually cooking. How long does that take? Do you just build smaller fires for breakfast and lunch? Will I have to cut our outings short just to wait for the fire to burn down before we can cook? How do you guys manage it?

I love how creative you got with the recipes in the foil! I am going to make these at home now as its so easy to throw everything in some aluminium foil and put it in the oven!
