Just found this pin! Two of my girlfriends and I get together every December on the closest Saturday in the middle of the month. We each pick 3 cookie & candy recipes we want to make in huge batches. We pool our resources an purchase as many supplies in advance from Costco or Sam’s Club in bulk. We also raid every Dollar Tree and 99 Cent Store for cookie tins and pretty containers. Then we all get together at my house and bake and cook and create up a storm! It is always a marathon event, exhausting, but well worth it. When completed, we have treats for our family, friends, neighbors and co-workers. And have time to mail to our out of state people without breaking a sweat. Thanks for all these wonderful recipes! Will add to our “list” this year. Also I grow 15 to 20 different herbs, spices and chili peppers. More than I can ever use! I share with anyone that wants them throughout the growing season and also dry the extra abundance. I purchase spice tins (cheaper to mail/ship than glass bottles), on line, and fill up and also give as gifts to people who like to cook and bake! I also hunt for cute baskets and include cheesecloth, and cooking twine so the recipient can make their own boquet garni if they so desire. I grow bee balm, lemon balm, which make a great tea or lovely sachets for your drawers. Also lavender – wonderful for so many uses. Anyway, thanks again and I so look forward to future posts!
