What Do You Most Care About?
When it comes to our children, we all want them to grow up to be healthy, intelligent, and happy. The choices we make today and in the future help mold them into the adults we hope they will one day be. If I asked you, “What do you care about most when it comes to your kids?” What would you say? For me, I care about what’s in my children’s food. Without a healthy diet, they wouldn’t have the energy to play or do well in school, and they would be more susceptible to illness. I want to make the best informed decisions I can regarding the foods they eat. That’s why I support mandatory GMO labeling. If you care about what your children eat, then you should too!
So many people have stepped forward to say that they want to know what’s in their food. They want to make an informed choice. Recently, a number of celebrity moms came together in support of this GMO labeling campaign too. In the video below, you see familiar faces like Jordana Brewster, Jillian Michaels, Sara Gilbert, Ginnifer Goodwin, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Constance Zimmer.
Since 2013 large food companies, like PepsiCo, Coca-Cola, General Mills, and Kellogg’s, have spent more than $168.4 million to fight GMO labeling campaigns across the country. This year alone, they have spent $51.6 million. Their trade association, the Grocery Manufacturers Association, is supporting the anti-consumer DARK Act, which just passed in the House of Representatives and will now go to the Senate. If this dangerous bill is passed into law, it will make it even harder for consumers to get the transparent labeling they deserve.
It has never been more important than now to stand up and let your voice be heard. Join me in supporting mandatory GMO labeling because we all deserve to provide the best for our children. We can’t do that is we are kept in the dark.
