You can make any day great with an ice cream sundae. Invite some friends over for a Sundae Party and make it even better. When the neighborhood kids come over, I always want to have tasty snacks on hand. During the summer months everyone loves ice cream, so it’s always in the house. Whether it’s an ice cream scoop in a waffle cone or a full ice cream sundae, the kids always love this ice cold treat on a hot, summer day. I was recently asked by The J.M. Smucker Company to create some unique tips for using a new product and I wanted to share with you. I have been compensated for this article, but all the opinions and tips shared are 100% my own.
Ice Cream Sundae Bars are great ideas for when you have kids or adults over to visit. Everyone can make their own flavor combinations using a variety of ingredients, sauces, and sprinkles. There is very little preparation and no cooking involved. Ice cream sundae bars are always a huge hit!
We recently had our friends over and set up this ice cream sundae bar featuring Smucker’s® Ice Cream Toppings. We picked up everything we needed at a recent trip to Walmart.
Whenever we make sundaes at home, we always like to have a variety of toppings for them. Each of our family memebers is different, so we like to have everything from fresh fruit and chopped nuts, to creamy syrups and sauces on hand for sundaes. There’s no right or wrong combination of ingredients so a great sundae. You are only limited by your imagination. For great ideas go to Sundae Fundae.
Our Sundae Bar included:
- Smucker’s® Simple Delight Hot Fudge Topping
- Smucker’s® Butterscotch Sundae Syrup
- Smucker’s® Simple Delight Salted Caramel Topping
- Smucker’s® Hot Fudge Ice Cream Topping
- Smucker’s® Strawberry Fruit Spread
- Whipped cream
- Cherries
- Chopped nuts
- Crumbled Cookies
- Sliced fruit, bananas
- Assorted sprinkles
- Waffle Cone bowls
- 3 flavors of ice cream; Vanilla, Mint Chocolate Chip, and Strawberry
It was a gorgeous day outside when everyone came over for sundaes. We set up the bar outside to make clean up easier. After an afternoon of playing, the kids loved making their own sundaes.
Everyone went in and created amazingly delicious flavor combinations.
The Smucker’s® Simple Delight Salted Caramel Topping was one of the favorite toppings. I can’t blame them. It’s one of my favorites too. I had picked it up for me thinking the kids would prefer the chocolate. They loved the caramel as much as I did.
This is my sundae. It’s a Salted Caramel Banana Sundae. Simple, but ohhhh so good.
Salted Caramel Ice Cream Sundae

Ingredients
- 2 scoops vanilla ice cream
- 2 Tablespoons Smucker’s Salted Caramel Ice Cream Topping
- 1/2 banana sliced
- 1 teaspoon chopped nuts
Instructions
- Place ice cream in a bowl. Top with salted caramel, sliced bananas, and chopped nuts. Enjoy!

The little ones loved their ice cream sundaes too. It was fun to hang out with friends and enjoy an ice cream sundae together. We didn’t need a reason to get together and throw an ice cream sundae party, but we had a great time regardless.
