Boatloads of people mainly from cruise ships are basically dumped at the small area at the base of the Petit Piton which has been roped off. High speed boats come and go starting around 10 in the morning with the last boat leaving around 4. The snorkeling area is very small, the water is not very clear, the fish are scarce at least when the crowds are there and the reef is in poor shape. The marine park authorities need to give this spot a rest. My advice to anyone would be to snorkel at Anse Mamin just to the north of Anse Chastenent. Very few people, much healthier reef, more fish.
