Fruit is a part of any healthy diet. The next time you reach for a piece, spice it up a little with this Chili Fruit Plate. A local Mexican restaurant here serves up this simple and tasty fruit dish. Adding a little lemon juice, honey, and red chili powder make the fresh fruit really POP!
If you have seasonal allergy issues, find yourself some locally produced honey. Eating raw, local honey can help tame allergy symptoms. Combined with the vitamin C from the fruit and the Vitamin A from the chili powder, they is a healthy snack you will enjoy.
To make this spiced fruit salad, you’ll need:
- Fresh fruit cut into pieces. (We used watermelon, pineapple, and cantaloupe. You can also use mango, coconut, honeydew, strawberries, etc.)
- 1 lemon, juiced
- Honey (amount to taste, I used 1 tablespoon on the bowl shown)
- Red Chili Powder (amount to taste, I used less than 1/8 teaspoon in the bowl shown)
- Place cut fruit on a plate. Drizzle with lemon juice and honey. Sprinkle with chili powder and serve.
