Candlewick Press lets you have the world at your fingertips with an assortment of great novelty travel books for families. I received a sampling of their books for this review. All opinions expressed are 100% my own.
We can’t always take off and travel to all the places we want to explore, so Candlewick Press makes it easy with new books that allow us to explore cities and countries in 3D. We can sit down explore sites and cities around the world. My kids and I were able to explore Japan, Berlin, and New York City.
Candlewick Press’ Panorama Pops Books
These are a 3D accordion folded book that features 12 famous sites for a city or country. They make a great travel book and keepsake in a protective sleeve. When you fold these books out, they stretch out to almost 5 feet. That’s 5 feet of landmarks, historical sites, and must see sites.
My family and I hope to visit Germany in the next year or so. It was great to flip through the Berlin book. It featured sites like the Berlin Zoo, Charlottenburg Palace, and Alexanderplatz. Each of the 12 sites is accompanied by information explaining the site. My kids loved looking through these books.
You can explore the following cities and countries in the Panorama Pops series; New York, San Francisco, Washington, DC, Berlin, Dublin, London, Paris, Rio de Janeiro, Rome, Venice, Australia, Hong Kong and Macau, The Louvre, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and Japan. Find these books are your local book seller or online at Amazon.
Pop Up Book: New York
Imagine a 3D pop up tour of New York City! That’s what you get in this engrossing, large-format book. You tour the city and take in the sites; the Statue of Liberty, Yankee Stadium, Time Square, and more. You learn all about the city of lights with fun facts, flaps, and amazing pop-ups throughout the book.
The kids and I enjoyed that you could take in the 2 page layout from multiple sides. Information is printed on the front and the back of the buildings and other pop-ups.
It makes the information interactive and fun to learn. The book covers the 5 boroughs and the major tourist sites. You can learn about historical figures, sports, foods, trivia facts, and more. You can find new things in this book every time you look.
Inside and Out: New York Book
Pull out this book and see 2 1/2 feet of New York City. This double sided wall chart takes you past famous sites as you play a game of search and find. See if you can find the 80 NYC icons in this book. Then turn the wall chart over and get a behind the scenes view of those same sites. It’s a fun look inside sites. See the photo below for a front and back side of the Statute of Liberty. My kids really liked this one and so will yours.
These books are great ways to learn about different cities and sites around the world. They allow you to explore places in a fun and informative way. Your family will love these books as much as mine does.
