Travel Packing Tips for Summer Clothes + Printable Packing List

I am partnering with prAna to bring you these travel packing tips for your summer clothes. All opinions are my own.

Travel Packing Tips for Summer Clothes + Printable Packing List

Sun, sand, and sea are my idea of the perfect summer getaway. Any day you can spend at the beach or on the water, is a good day indeed. But before you can take off on a fun getaway, you need to pack those summer clothes. I have a few tips and a printable packing list to get you started.

  1. Make a packing list or use ours

It’s awful to get to your destination and realize you forgot your toothbrush or worse all your underwear. It happens all too often (I should know. I once went to San Diego and forget my underwear and ALL the kids’ socks).

Instead of worrying about having everything, a packing list WILL help you. You can check items off the list as you pack them and then relax knowing you have everything you need.

  1. Pack Versatile Summer Clothes

Limit what you take on a trip. This sounds counterintuitive with #1, but you don’t need the kitchen sink on a family getaway. Plan you outfits and pack clothing that can go from day to night or be mixed and matched with other pieces. It saves space and the time it takes to decide what to wear.

Kayta Top from prAna - Travel Packing Tips for Summer Clothes + Printable Packing List

This Katya Top  from prAna can be worn with shorts to the beach or with a skinny jean  and sandals for dinner. This shirt is made with 100% organic cotton and is fair trade certified too.

Sea shells from my time in Monterey

I took it on my trip to Monterey, California and wore it to go cycling along the coast, shell collecting, exploring the tidal pools, and then out to dinner with friends. It’s super comfortable and the vertical stripes are very flattering.

A great dress can be worn day or night and also as a swim cover up. This Cora Dress  from prAna is perfect for every occasion. prAna designs all of their clothes to be versatile and be worn just about everywhere. While prAna clothing is great for any adventure, the company is mindful in supporting fair trade and sustainable practices. prAna’s core belief is to give back more than we take from the world. https://www.prana.com/about-us/our-roots.html

3. Pack lightweight, wrinkle-resistant fabrics

Pack clothing that is wash and wear. You are on vacation and don’t want to spend it ironing. Instead of linen, opt for a hemp fabric that resists wrinkles and is anti-microbial. prAna uses offers hemp items which are sustainable and eco friendly. Find out why hemp matters.

Extra Tip: When you pack your clothes, roll each item, instead of folding to prevent wrinkles.

4. Don’t forget your swim suit

There is a swimsuit to wear to the pool, but it’s not always the best thing to wear is you are big into water sports like surfing, stand up paddle boarding, or water skiing.

Rai Swim Tight from prAna - Travel Packing Tips for Summer Clothes + Printable Packing List

This Rai Swim Tight   from prAna is perfect for water sports. It’s made with a swim fabric of 80% nylon and 20% spandex. It provides coverage and sun protection at the same time. Plus when you are surfing or water skiing at the lake, you don’t have to worry about losing your swimsuit when you fall. You can wear it as a swim tight, rash guard, or yoga pants around town.

Thank you for sharing! I’m doing online shopping at Macy’s for summer vacation, set up a wishlist, just because, missing items to the right of the image, what not to buy too much, and not to miss important 🙂 In addition, I want to use a promo code for a discount, this is no less a pleasant thing in shopping!
