Organic yogurt is the perfect grab and go breakfast for my kids as they’re running out the door to catch the school bus. We are big fans of food that lets us eat healthy on the go. It’s one of many reasons why yogurt cups are a staple in our house. Personally, I like Organic Greek yogurt because it’s a tasty, protein-packed snack, plus I can use it in baking as a substitute for oil. Over the years, I have tried many different brands of organic yogurt and organic Greek yogurt. But it wasn’t until recently that I tried Wallaby yogurt and kefir.
Wallaby Yogurt asked me to try their organic kefir and yogurts for the first time and write about it here. I’m always up to try new foods, so I agreed and headed to my local Whole Foods to pick some up. Here’s the Wallaby Yogurt & Kefir I picked up to try:
- Greek Yogurt 5.3 oz Cups in nonfat peach, nonfat mixed berry, and whole milk raspberry
- Whole Milk Kefir in peach and strawberry
- Aussie Smooth Whole Milk Yogurt in vanilla
I really like that Wallaby yogurt comes in a variety of milk fat percentages. They offer Whole Milk ( 4.5% in Greek and 3.5% in Aussie Smooth), Lowfat (1.5%), and Nonfat (0%). Typically, I buy whole milk yogurt because I find it has a richer taste as compared to nonfat versions. Surprisingly, I found that Wallaby’s nonfat, lowfat, and whole milk yogurts all have a similar richness, texture, and flavor. So regardless of the variety, I get a creamy yogurt with a taste that indulges my tastebuds.
Wallaby takes a slower, more mindful approach to the foods they create for people to enjoy. Their Aussie style yogurt is made with organic milk from family farms and other certified organic ingredients. Visit their website to learn more about their story. Take a look at this ingredient list from a Wallaby Organic Greek Yogurt cup with nonfat milk.
These ingredients are then slow cultured for an indulgent flavor that is never tart. This unique slow culturing process takes twice as long as other yogurts, but it’s a difference you can taste and will enjoy!
Wallaby Organic Greek Yogurt
I prefer Greek yogurt because it packs in more protein than regular yogurt. Each serving of Wallaby Organic Greek Yogurt contains at least 11 grams of protein. Flavored varieties contain organic fruit and organic cane sugar. Ingredients are simple and that is something you CAN taste. One thing that sets Wallaby organic Greek yogurt apart is its thickness/texture. Unlike other Greek yogurts, Wallaby’s has a creamier texture that isn’t thick. Some Greek yogurts are so thick you can stand a spoon up in them. This isn’t like that. It’s smoother and creamier.
