Have you ever set a goal for yourself and then talked yourself out of it or maybe changed the goal a teensy weensy bit? Did you know that if you create a physical representation of those goals, you are much more likely to stick with them? Your chances increase even more if you share your goals with friends and family. One way to keep yourself accountable is to throw a vision board party so you can manifest the life of your dreams.
What is the Purpose of a Vision Board?
A vision board (sometimes called a dream board) gives clarity to your intentions and the deeper longings of your soul. It’s a physical representation of your priorities.

A vision board serves as your inspiration to keep going as well as a powerful tool for accountability.
Does a Vision Board Really Help Manifest Dreams?
Keep your vision board in front of you. Look at it and meditate on your goals several times throughout the day, including the first thing when you wake up and the last thing before you go to sleep. This increased focus is not some magic miracle, but it does keep you focused on your goals.
By now, you’ve probably heard of the Law of Attraction. It basically states that whatever you focus on will grow. It’s important, then, to put our true desires on our vision boards, and take action to make it happen.
How to Throw a Vision Board Party for Manifestation
Whether you make a physical representation of your vision board or a digital one, it’s important to share it with someone. This increases your accountability and it gives you someone to celebrate with once you’ve manifested some aspects of your goals.
Who to Invite to Your Vision Board Party
You can throw a vision board party to focus on relationships or accountability with specific people. This could include family members, a friend group, a sports team, co-workers, etc. Your vision boards might be linked together, or they could be completely separate.
For example in a family, you might make vision boards about taking responsibility or showing kindness or community service projects or dream family vacations. Get some inspiration from these New Year Letter board quotes to help set intentions.
In a friend group, the vision boards might be your own individual goals but also have each member focus on one aspect of the group relationships.
Gather Materials
Once you’ve decided on who is attending your dream board party, gather the base materials. For physical boards, you might need:
- Posterboard
- Tape
- Glue
- Scissors
- Sharpies, markers
- Pens
- Scrapbooking paper
- Stencils
- Old magazines with words and pictures
Tip: If you don’t have a stash of old magazines, use Google Image search to find pictures of the items you want. Print the images and then glue them to your manifestation board. This exponentially increases your chances of finding the perfect picture to represent your goal.
You can also create digital vision boards (less mess!) with Canva. There are free and paid versions available. In this case, you can also edit the images you are using, e.g. enhance picture quality, remove blur or apply image filters if needed.
For digital boards, ask your dreamers if they have and/or need:
- Canva accounts
- Clip Art
- Screenshots for inspiration

Identify Your Vision
it’s important to spend some time identifying your vision. When hosting a manifestation party, I’ve found it’s better to give a few instructions or directions ahead of time. Encourage your guests to clarify their dreams prior to your party. This way your guests will be able to spend their time creating their visions rather than thinking. Vision Board categories might include:
- Relationships
- Family Life
- Spirituality
- Self-Care
- Health and Wellness
- Financial Vigor
- Career Goals
It is essential to clarify your vision before moving on to the next step. You don’t want to be influenced by pretty pictures in a magazine or funny digital images. Remind your guests to be true to themselves. There is no wrong way to create a vision board for manifestation.

Find Images and Objects that Support Your Dreams
Once everyone has identified their vision and goals, start looking for images and objects to give a visual representation of them. Cut out or screenshot words of affirmation or inspirational quotes. Your vision board should be 100% positive with words, goals, and images that calm and boost your confidence. Some of those goals might be scary and audacious, but pinpointing them on your board will make them more tangible. Mindset and perspective are everything.
Tip: Allow plenty of time at your manifestation party for the creative process. Set the mood for creativity with some upbeat music, energizing snacks, and a welcoming atmosphere.
Share Your vision Boards
Once everyone has completed their vision boards, take time to share them. Discuss ways to keep each other accountable. Set up a regular check-in time – this might be daily, weekly, or monthly.
If a few of you share similar goals, work out a way you might help each other. If you’re looking for ways to bond with your family, for example, others in the group might have ideas you can try or even equipment you can borrow. If a few of you are eager to improve your health, set up a time to work out together once a week.
A vision board party is a great way to deepen relationships and work on goals together as you can encourage and support each other along the way.
Mindset leads to Manifestation
Speaking of mindset, how does creating a vision board lead to manifestation? when your goals are crystal clear in your mind you are more likely to take steps toward making them a reality. If you put a picture of a dream vacation on your vision board, for example, you are more likely to pay attention to money-saving opportunities to make it a reality. However, if you shove your dream board in a closet or leave it in your downloads folder, your goals will soon be forgotten and you will not take the necessary steps to manifest your dreams.
Negative Attracts Negative
Keep your vision board positive and focused. If your mind is telling you “this will never happen” or “I’m never going to make that much money”, then for sure – that is exactly what will happen. Get that negativity out of here and change the narrative you tell yourself.
If it is hard for you to truly believe that you are deserving of your goals and dreams, tweak the mantra to something you can believe. This doesn’t mean wiping it off your board! Change “I’m a 6-figure earner” to “I’m taking steps every day to increase my income”.
If you put “lose weight” on your board, but also feel like you’ve tried every diet known to humankind and still can’t get the weight off – change your mindset and your mantra. “I’m taking steps towards health every day”, or “I am increasing my mobility every day”.
Small tweaks in your mindset when creating a vision board will open your mind to new possibilities and all the small steps it takes to manifest the life of your dreams.
Action Leads to Attraction
Once you have set your mantras and intentions for your vision board, look at it every day. If you created a vision board with others, make it a weekly routine to check in and update each other on progress. When your goals are at the forefront of your mind, you are able to take small steps toward them. This, in turn, leads to attraction – when things start to show up in your life and go your way.
Whether you make a physical representation or a digital vision board, keep your mind open and be willing to accept the good things the universe has in store for you. Share your vision boards with us in the Facebook group or write a couple of your goals in the comments. I’ll be cheering you on, too.
