How to Make Candied Pecans
To make this easy snack, you’ll start by toasting your pecans in the oven for 10 minutes. It provides a stronger punch of pecan flavor. Plus I find that the candy syrup holds better to the nuts when toasted.
While the pecans are toasting, combine the following ingredients together. To get a sugar syrup that is a lovely cinnamon brown color.
- 2 cups pecan halves
- 3 Tablespoons butter, melted
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 Tablespoons real maple syrup
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Once the pecans are toasted, pull them from the oven and stir them into the sugar syrup. Then, you’ll place the sugared pecans back onto the baking sheet and return to the oven for another 10 minutes.
