A MasterClass printable card is the easiest way to wrap a gift that lives online. You buy a MasterClass gift membership, print it from your account, and tuck it into a holiday card, a stocking, or a graduation envelope. Below, I walk you through exactly how to print it, plus a free printable card you can download, fill in, and hand over.
I have been a MasterClass member for three months, and I keep coming back to the classes on conversation and habits. You can read my Masterclass review here. In our family, we gift experiences over physical gifts. For travelers, knowledge is power, and I can’t think of a better thing to gift than a year of learning from world renowned experts. One annual membership can fit a curious teen, a busy parent, or a grandparent ready to learn new skills.

What is a MasterClass printable card?
A MasterClass printable card is the printed version of a digital MasterClass gift. There is no plastic MasterClass gift card in a box. When you buy a gift on the MasterClass gift page, you choose to deliver it by email or print it out, and you can send it now or schedule it for a future date.
Your gift recipient gets a full annual membership to the online learning platform: unlimited classes, every instructor, all year. MasterClass currently lists 200+ classes, from Gordon Ramsay in the kitchen to Serena Williams on the tennis court.
All three MasterClass plans can be gifted:
| Plan | Price per year | Offline downloads |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | $120 | No |
| Plus | $180 | Yes |
| Premium | $240 | Yes |
Every plan includes the full class library. If your recipient travels, gift Plus or Premium so they can download lessons in the app and watch on a plane (MasterClass Help Center). Prices are at the time of writing; check the gift page for current offers.
The printed gift is handy for anyone who wants something to open, not just an email address to check. It also travels well inside Christmas cards, birthday cards, or a gift tag on a bigger present.
How to buy and print a MasterClass gift, step by step
You can buy and print a MasterClass gift from any computer in eight simple steps.
- Go to the gift page. Open the MasterClass gift page and click the button to give the gift of MasterClass.
- Pick a plan. Choose Standard, Plus, or Premium, then click Continue. Plus or Premium is the one to gift a traveler.
- Log in or create an account. You need a MasterClass account to manage and send your gift.
- Add the details. Enter your recipient’s name, email address, and gift message.
- Choose when it arrives. Send it immediately, or schedule delivery for a future date and time, like Christmas morning. Scheduled times are set to Pacific time.
- Pay. Enter your payment details. A receipt and confirmation email go to the address you used at checkout.
- Print it. Log in, select your Profile in the upper right corner, click Gifts, then click Print next to the gift.
- Fix a mistake. In that same Gifts portal, click Resend / Edit next to the recipient to change details. Once a gift is redeemed, it can’t be changed.
Two tips from the MasterClass Help Center:
- The “send membership” link MasterClass emails you is not the gift link to forward. Always send or print from the Gifts portal.
- If you emailed the gift and it hasn’t arrived, ask the recipient to check their junk mail folder for a message from [email protected].

Free printable MasterClass gift card
MasterClass’s print option gives you the gift itself. My free printable cards gives it a personal wrapper worth unwrapping.
Download the free MasterClass boarding pass printables: a year round edition and a holiday edition, both in one PDF.
What’s inside the download:
- Year round edition: a navy and cream boarding pass that says “You’re Cleared for Takeoff” on a one year MasterClass membership
- Holiday edition: a snowflake trimmed version that says “Your Gift Is Ready for Takeoff,” with a “Happy Holidays” stub
- Fill in lines for Passenger, From, and your gift message on both
- A “First Class” line so you can suggest their first video lesson
- Checkboxes for the Standard, Plus, or Premium plan you gifted
- A tear off stub that reads “Admit One Curious Mind”
How to use it:
- Buy and print your MasterClass gift using the steps above.
- Print your boarding pass on white cardstock. The year round pass is 8.5 x 2.75 inches, so four fit on one letter size sheet. The holiday pass is 8.5 x 5 inches, a half sheet of standard paper.
- Trim it out, fill it in, and fold the printed gift page behind it.
- Slip the year round pass into a #10 business envelope, or the holiday pass into a 5 x 8.5 card envelope or a stocking.
Is MasterClass a good gift for teens and families?
Yes, for teens 13 and up with a parent on board. MasterClass says its classes are designed for adult learners. Kids under 13 aren’t allowed to use it, and teens ages 13 to 17 may use it only with a parent or guardian’s approval.
That makes it a strong pick for:
- High schoolers exploring a passion, from cooking to filmmaking to writing
- Graduates heading to college or a first job who want new skills
- Parents who want a year of short, inspiring lessons on their own schedule
- Grandparents who would rather learn something than receive another sweater
A single class or a whole annual membership? MasterClass doesn’t offer gifts of individual classes. Every gift is a full annual membership, so your recipient isn’t limited to one online course. They can sample plenty of courses across cooking, writing, sports, business, and more.
Parent tip: For a teen, plan to activate the gift together so you can set up the account and browse classes side by side.

MasterClass gift ideas: class picks by recipient
Write one of these on the “Start with this class” line of your printable so the gift feels chosen, not generic.
| Recipient | Class to suggest | Lessons |
|---|---|---|
| The teen who lives in the kitchen | Gordon Ramsay Teaches Cooking I | 20 |
| The aspiring filmmaker | Martin Scorsese Teaches Filmmaking | 30 |
| The tennis player or young athlete | Serena Williams Teaches Tennis | 10 |
| The storyteller or binge watcher | Shonda Rhimes Teaches Writing for Television | 30 |
| The fashion lover or future boss | Anna Wintour Teaches Creativity and Leadership | 12 |
| The shy teen or new grad | The Conversation Advantage with Dr. Alison Wood Brooks | 54 minutes total |
| The parent resetting routines | Small Habits that Make a Big Impact on Your Life with James Clear | 10 |
My own picks: The Conversation Advantage and James Clear’s Small Habits are two of the classes I watched on my flights to Almaty, Kazakhstan.
How to redeem a MasterClass gift (tuck these tips in with the card)
The membership starts the day your recipient activates it, and it can’t be paused, so tell them to redeem when they’re ready to dive in, like the first day of winter break.
How your gift recipient redeems it:
- Open the gift email from [email protected] and click Redeem Now. MasterClass recommends a computer; on a phone, open the link in a mobile browser, not the app.
- Create an account, or log in to an existing MasterClass account.
- Click Activate Gift.
- When asked for payment information for future renewals, tap Why do we ask for a credit card, then Enter payment information later to skip it.
Good to know:
- It renews like any membership. Once redeemed, a gift works exactly like any other annual membership, including auto renewal. Your recipient can turn off auto renewal anytime in their account settings.
- Already a member? The gift adds one year to their current membership, unless they pay through PayPal, Google Play, or Apple. In that case, they cancel auto renewal, let the current plan expire, then redeem.
- Expiration: A paid gift bought outside a promotion has no expiration date. A gift bought as part of a promotion must be redeemed within 365 days of purchase unless otherwise noted.
- Refunds: A gift bought within the last 30 days that hasn’t been redeemed may be eligible for a refund. Redeemed gifts can’t be refunded.
