Lincoln, NH

We recently visited Lincoln, New Hampshire and had a great time. Nestled among the western White Mountains, this quaint little town is perfect for outdoor families. Loon Mountain is one of the area’s more accessible destinations and it’s affordable!

Summer Family Fun

The White Mountains are a four season destination, but it’s summer that we enjoy the most. Give our family sunshine and water to be truly happy. Lincoln and the surrounding area has plenty to do during the summer months. Take a look!

Things to Do in Lincoln, NH

Franconia Notch State Park Bike Path – This 9 mile long path is one of the most popular routes in the area. This paved surface ride takes you past many of the area’s great attractions.

Hike through the Flume Gorge – This 2 mile hike/nature walk takes you through the gorge past mountain views, waterfalls, and covered bridges. You can also stop along the path and explore the trail’s caves.

Pemigewasset River

J.E. Henry Trail – Behind the RiverWalk Resort, this 1 mile long trail runs alongside the Pemigewasset River. You’ll enjoy views of the woods and water along this route that connects to the Riverfront Park Trail or the South Peak Resort Trail System.

Clark’s Trading Post– This family theme park is known for their trained black bear show, steam train rides, and water blaster boats. Families can also get a little wet on the water raft ride or visit the Old Trading Post and do a little shopping.

Gondola Skyride – The state’s longest scenic Gondola Skyride is a fun way to reach Loon Peak.

Pin this for later.

Whales Tale Water Park– One of New England’s most award-winning waterparks. Packed with slides, tubes, wave pools, hot tubs, and a surf simulator, families are sure to find plenty of fun here.

Alpine Adventures– 300 acres filled with exciting zip lines, guided treks, and off-road tours.

Candia Springs Adventure Park– Waterpark complete with speed slides, water challenge course, and aerial adventure forest provide hours of fun. The spring fed swimming area is a great place to relax after the inflatable obstacle course.

After a day full of outdoor activities, you want lodging to come back to where you can unwind, relax, and continue the family fun. RiverWalk is that place in Lincoln, New Hampshire. As a resort offering studios through 3 bedrooms, families have space to spread out, full sized kitchen to cook meals, and a host of amenities perfect for all ages.

one bedroom suite RiverWalk Resort Loon NH

We stayed in a one-bedroom suite (sleeps 6) with open living/dining area. The couch pulls out into a queen bed and the dining table coverts to a queen sized Murphy bed. Suites or condos like this are perfect for our family. Everyone has even space so we aren’t packing in on top of each other and the full kitchen means we can cook in the room. That saves money while on vacation. (Note: See how we saved money on a trip to Orlando doing just this).

Suites feature a balcony that looks out to the mountains or the river. Inside there is an electric fireplace that provides a relaxing feel where you just want to sit and warm yourself by.

Save Money on Your Stay

You can book your stay nightly as a hotel stay or you can own a little piece of heaven in the White Mountains and opt for ownership. There are several options if you want to utilize this option including fractional, seasonal, or complete ownership of a suite. Our family owns a vacation property through another brand/company that allows us to use the RCI exchange system. RiverWalk Resort owners can also use this system. Over the years, we’ve said a great deal of money on vacation. If you have access to RCI, you may do the same.

If you want to save money on a stay here, travel with another family and share the larger suite together. This resort also offers studios, two and three bedroom suites that sleep up to 12 people. It makes for some great shared memories and more money to spend on other things.

At RiverWalk, everyone will love:

  • Heated outdoor swimming pool and hot tubs
  • Game room
  • Nightly campfires with s’mores
  • Walking distance to movie theater, shopping, and restaurants
  • Special events and programs for families

The adults will enjoy:

  • The Solstice North Day Spa (onsite)
  • Fitness center
  • La Vista Italian Cuisine restaurant onsite serving breakfast and dinner. See below for samples of our dinner. Excellent food and service!
  • Seven Birches Winery (onsite) open nightly and offers weekly tours
