Awesome Indoor Games
Keep your active kid moving and laughing with these awesome indoor games. They use household items you already have at home. Grab them and start having fun indoors today!
Simple Balloon Games
Create indoor fun with a simple balloon.
Balloon Stomp: Help your high energy child stomp out there frustration with indoor living by tying a string to a balloon and the other end to your child’s ankle. Each kid tries to “stomp” the other kids balloon. Keep the fun going by having several replacement balloons for each child. Let them keep ‘stompin'” balloons until they are so tired they fall down in a fit of laughter. Rules: No Touching!! You can only stomp on the balloon. Any pushing, shoving or holding means you are out of the game.
Balloon Waddle: Pair two children, have them stand side by side, put a balloon between them at hip level. Have them “waddle” as fast as they can from one side of the room to the other without dropping the balloon. You can do this as a race or have a timer so the “waddlers” can try to beat their own score.
Balloon Volleyball: With or without a net try to keep the balloon in the air as long as possible. Count the the taps on the balloon and try to keep it up for more “taps” each time. Put a tape line across the floor or string a clothesline in a room with open space to create a “net” and play teams.

Pairs of Socks =Awesome Fun
Round Robin Sock Basketball: Place a basket, bucket or box in each room of the house. Pair socks and fold into a ball. Have a starting line in each room and shoot the socks into the basket. Set up points for each shot or play a game of Horse (every miss gets you a letter until you spell the word).
Sock Fight!! Ball up about six pairs of socks per player. Let each player pick a spot in the family/living room and then yell GO! Watch as socks go flying through the air and you and the kiddos dissolve into fits of laughter! It is an indoor snowball fight you can do in your jammies!
The sock fight is an awesome indoor activity on grumpy, cranky days when everyone just wants to throw something, including Mom an Dad.
Spoons
I personally love this game and so do my kids. If you can hold and pass cards you are not to young to play. This is a very active card game so no drinks or breakable items on or around the table. Rules of the game can vary by family but here are the basics.
Movies and video games don’t have to make a whiny couch potato our of your high energy kids this winter. When the temperature drops let the awesome indoor activities began!
