I love getting out on the water, feeling the sun on my skin, and the breeze coming off the water as I paddle. I already own a sit-on kayak that I enjoy, but to be honest, find it difficult to haul around for day trips. So I have been looking for something that I can easily carry and transport. This is where the Bote Breeze shines.
I received this 10’8″ Breeze Aero SUP from BOTE to test out and review. I have paddled on their rigid boards before and enjoyed the experience minus the heft of carrying them around. But what truly impressed me was the convenience and portability of this inflatable SUP that weighs just 20 lbs.
BOTE SUP Review – Breeze Aero
In this BOTE paddleboard review, I’ll share my experiences with this lightweight 10’8″ SUP gem that has elevated my stand-up paddleboarding game to new heights.
A Featherweight Wonder
The first thing that struck me about the Bote Breeze Aero is its incredibly lightweight design. As someone who appreciates convenience without compromising quality, the mere 20 pounds of this 10 ft 8 inch SUP had me excited even before my first glide across the water.
This lightweight paddle board is made with BOTE’s AeroULTRA technology, a single-layer military-grade PVC that is super durable and designed to last for years. Its design makes it over 20% lighter than other inflatable SUPs on the market.
Compact, Portable SUP
As a short woman who didn’t want to deal with loading a board on top of my car or hooking up a trailer, the portability of an inflatable SUP is a game-changer. When deflated and rolled up, it fits perfectly in the compact carry bag provided. The bag fits easily into the trunk of my Toyota Camry.
- Travel Bag Dimensions: 38″ L × 18″ W × 12″ D
- Board Dimensions: 10′8″ L × 33″ W × 6″ D
The total weight of the bag, paddle, and board is 26 pounds! That is super lightweight and makes it easy to carry around. I can even check my board and bag in as luggage on airplanes if I wanted to travel with it.
Whether I’m heading to the nearby lake or planning a weekend getaway, this inflatable stand-up paddle board fits effortlessly into my lifestyle, allowing me to indulge in my passion for water sports without logistical hassles.
Stability and Performance
One might assume that a lightweight paddleboard compromises stability, but the Bote Breeze Aero defies this misconception. The 10’8″ length provides an ideal balance between maneuverability and stability, allowing me to confidently explore calm waters and navigate small waves.
At a width of 33″, this board has enough surface area to keep me stable, even in choppy conditions. It’s also a great size for anyone who wants to paddle with the dog. The 6″ height when inflated to 15psi adds more stability and helps paddle boarders of various weights and skill levels remain balanced on the board.
Rated to hold up to 250 pounds, this board is designed for recreational use and light touring. It’s perfect for beginner paddleboarders, recreationists, and fitness enthusiasts who are looking for something to enjoy on flat water.
Designed with Precision
Bote’s attention to detail shines through in the design of the Breeze Aero. The non-slip deck pad provides a secure grip, even when wet, ensuring my safety during longer paddling sessions.
The integrated bungee system at the front of the board is perfect for securing gear and shoes or stowing a dry bag. There are also D-rings along the rail of the board to attach a Travelink™, adjustable carry strap, which makes it easier to carry the board around once inflated.
The board is MAGNEPOD compatible and Kula Cooler compatible to easily attach BOTE’s magnetic drinkware and hard-sided coolers, making it a great option for those looking to customize their SUP. I have the MAGNEBottle 36oz With Cap shown. I like that it keeps my drink cold and is securely affixed to the board until I remove it.
The Bote Breeze also comes equipped with front, center, and tail center handles for carrying the board, an adjustable 3-piece paddle, and a tool-less fin system with a removable center fin.
User-Friendly Setup
Inflating the Bote Breeze Aero is a straightforward process that takes mere minutes. A hand pump is included with every board and it works well. But I found that using an electric pump cuts the inflation time in half and eliminates the arm workout.
I have this dual-stage, high-pressure SUP pump from Outdoor Masters and find it works great. It inflates my board to 15 psi in about 15 minutes.
Cost and Value
The Bote Breeze Aero 10’8″ Stand Up Paddle Board is reasonably priced at $699. It comes with a carry bag, three-fin setup, adjustable paddle, hand pump, and repair kit. There is an upgraded package for $1058 (on sale now $899) that also includes a coiled leash, KULA 2.5 hard-sided cooler, and an inflatable belt PFD.
To me, these are both great values for the money considering the comfort and convenience it offers. If you are looking for a larger board, BOTE also offers this in an 11’6″ model.
Final Verdict
The Bote Breeze Aero 10’8″ Stand Up Paddle Board has redefined my paddleboarding experience. Its lightweight design, portability, stability, and thoughtful features make it an exceptional choice for both beginners and seasoned paddlers.
As a 5’3″ woman who revels in convenience without compromising on performance, the Breeze has become my go-to companion for serene lake escapades and exciting water adventures. It’s one of the best paddleboards for women or short adults that I have tested.
If you’re seeking a versatile lightweight paddleboard that matches your lifestyle, this is undoubtedly a worthy investment.
