The Hex House – Tulsa
Tulsans may have the corner on the horror market. The Hex House is for true thrill seekers. Based on a true crime story involving murder and cults, The Hex House will rattle your sense of fear as you travel through a specially-constructed house inside a block building, moving from room to room, unsure of what to expect. The Hex House uses authentic rooms to provide realism for guests – bedrooms may appear to be neatly cleaned with made-up beds. As you move through the room, your mind starts wondering where the scare will come from. The closet? From under the bed? Sometimes, it may be the unexpected – like the thoughts put in your head – that may be enough to scare you. But, actors may follow guests around the home, waiting for the perfect time to spring into action and scare the tears out of you. The Hex House isn’t for the faint-hearted; be prepared to be scared! Really scared! The Hex House’s actors are one of only a few of the haunted houses in Oklahoma allowed to touch guests. So as you sneak down a hallway or try to find your way through a darkened room, that’s when someone may approach you from a corner or from a sofa. Regardless, fear will consume your inner being and you’ll pray for the terror to end quickly. Then, as you exit the Hex House, you’ll want to plan your next visit, as no two visits are the same. The Hex House is recommended for people ages 13 and older. Rise of the Living Dead – featuring zombies – is a sister horror spot to the Hex House. https://www.tulsahexhouse.com/
Psycho Path – Sperry
You and seven fellow travelers climb aboard a wagon following a short walk in darkness, preparing for a 20-minute ride through a wooded area featuring realistic sets and props. The fall weather presents beautiful sounds and scenery – leaves rustling underneath the scareage – a custom-built quiet-sounding vehicle, the moon illuminating the view of silhouetted trees and bushes. Suddenly, you see something out of the corner of your eye. What was it? A local coyote? Or maybe another night predator. You travel farther along, listening to the sounds – some manmade, some not. You become tense, sensing something isn’t right as you pass the woods. The sounds you heard earlier intensify. Then, screams break the silence as creatures jump out from nowhere, attacking your wagon. You pray for the ride to end. To say you’ll be scared by the end of your experience on the dark ride is an understatement. Psycho Path is considered one of the scariest haunted houses in Oklahoma. While an age minimum isn’t enforced, adults are recommended to decide if their child is mature enough to handle the experience. psychopathhaunt.com/

The Asylum – Nowata
You can check in to The Asylum, but will you check out? The Nowata attraction provides guests with an interactive experience based in a 1940s sanitarium, where the staff has gone missing and the inmates are indeed running the asylum. As a nurse or doctor approach, you may be asked to help with another “patient,” or you may become that patient. The haunted attraction relies on providing psychological scares, rather than relying on physical hauntings, such as someone jumping out behind a door. But, don’t think you’re safe from being spooked by inmates rounding the corner. Madness prevails at The Asylum. While The Asylum doesn’t have an age limit, parents are asked to determine if their child can handle realistic interactive horror scenes. okasylum.com/

A clown coming out of a porta-potty?! I’m out! Toilet scare is the worst scare IMO. I love Halloween but I think I’m too chicken for any of these!
