According to the National Park Service, more people visited America’s national park sites in 2015 than ever before. The park service’s 410 sites around the country hosted a record-breaking 307.2 million visits.
Fun Fact: Did you know the National Park Service includes 59 national parks as well as historic sites, lakeshores, seashores, recreation areas, and more?
The National Park Service is more than just the big parks like Yosemite, Yellowstone, and the #1 most popular park, the Great Smoky Mountains in Tennessee. In all, the National Park Service sites encompass more than 84 million acres around the country. That’s a lot of opportunities for families to get outdoors and have a fun family adventure.

Those are some great national parks. Which ones have you been to?
Personally, I’ve only one to one park on this list, the Grand Canyon. But it doesn’t really count. A few years ago, we experienced the Polar Express on the Grand Canyon Railway. It was a great experience, but it was dark outside and we didn’t see anything. But next year, we are planning a HUGE trip through New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, Wyoming, and Colorado. So I hope that everything works out so we have go exploring some of these other parks.
On this list of the most popular by state, we have been to many more parks. What about you?
