Camping Side Dish Recipes
Who says you have to make/cook all of your food on site? We like to make several side dishes at home and transport them to the campsite. The sides we choose are ones that hold well in the cooler.
We have listed a few of our favorites here. They include both make-ahead salads and classic camp recipes.
Broccoli-Cran Apple Salad
The trick to great salads and side dishes while camping is selecting dishes that hold up really well in the cooler. This broccoli salad holds it’s crunch and only gets better the longer it sits. We love this salad for lunch or as a side.
Copycat Rudy’s Coleslaw
Coleslaw is easy to make at home and pack in the cooler. I like to pre-slice the veggies and then add the dressing on site.
Mom’s Potato Salad
Another great salad to take along. This potato salad goes great with everything from BBQ to sandwiches.
Cheesy potatoes cooked on the grill
Grilled Corn with Parmesan Butter
An easy side dish for the grill. Recipe from Rachel Ray Magazine.
Simple Tomato Avocado Salad with Cilantro Lime Vinaigrette
This camping side dish is great with tacos or burritos, served with tortilla chips, or on its own.
